알테온의 13대 국왕 칼레빈스의 뒤를 이어 그의 딸 레이첼 공주에게 왕위가 계승된다.하지만 14대 여왕 즉위식 도중 난입한 반란군들로 인해 행사는 난장판이 되고 공주는 겨우 목숨만 건진 채 우호국인 비흉국으로 피신한다.
과거 12기사 단장 이였던 테라츠가 강력한 물질 제어 기술을 이용하여 반란을 일으킨 것이다.
레이첼 공주는 반란을 진압하기 위해 우호국과 연합군을 형성한다.
오랜 전투 끝에 마침내 아니킬라시온의 유적에서 신병기 나이트 세이버를 얻는데 성공한다.
그러나 밀리안의 사부였던 쿠쿨레인의 배신으로 공주 일행은 뼈아픈 역습을 당한다.
뜻하지 않은 일격을 받은 공주 일행은 휴식을 취하기 위해 나플하임으로 향하게 되는데...
